Your assignment is to write a column or opinion piece on your blog. Pick an issue that you feel strongly about and that you think readers would be interested in. Take a firm stand on this particular issue.
It is important that you be credible. Do whatever research is necessary to make your point. Because not everybody will agree with you at the beginning, it is important that you make a strong argument. Be yourself. Be conversational. Let the reader get to know who you are.
Also, it is important that you write well. Read over the blog examples that I handed out earlier this week. You can see that the tone of the blogs varied, depending on the subject matter and the audience. Be confident. Be sincere. Be you.
Your blog should be approximately one page long. You have plenty of time to work on this.
Oh, one other thing. Yes, we will have class on Monday, March 7. If you have any questions about the assignment, we can talk then.

Class, I would like you to write on "What Is My Passion?" In other words, what really gets you excited? Is it something you have been working on for a long time, or is it something that you recently got interested in?
